I Need to Know Who Gave This Shiur! - The Problem of the Generation

I need some help. There is a great shiur given by a Rav and I got the recording from R' Dovid Teitelbaum's blog, in a great post on speaking honestly about the problem of our generation.

You can get the shiur he linked to HERE. Can you listen to it because it cuts right to the core and talks about what Rav Weinberger's been crying about? he starts off by telling some heartrending stories that he has heard about as a Rav in Brooklyn I think. Can you please let me know who's giving this shiur? I think from something he says at the end that he has a very well known father in America at least as far back as the 1940's.  Sorry for not recognizing his voice. Thank you!

Frankly I think RDT at al are late to the game and somewhat holding us back.

We know there is an issue. I mean, KP did a whole issue on it already, and YU saw the need to hire RMW to inspire their talmidim. I think we've progressed beyond the "raising awareness" stage. Enough saying how bad everything is and dwelling on the crisis de jour.

Aish Kodesh has already modeled one solution for TWENTY YEARS already. (AishDas has had much much smaller success, but successes, for 15 years now.) We should be writing about how to duplicate your successes. Refining it, looking for things that could be done better or better for somewhat different communities. What kind of models would work for very different communities? Etc...

Let's move on to problem solving already. Any more talking about how bad things are, and we'll ch"v cause yi'ush in one contingent, and feed the cynicism of those who are already disenchanted and perhaps even r"l looking to leave.

Oops! Forgot to answer your question!

It's R' Moshe Tuvia Lieff of the Agudah on Ave L in Flatbush, "Beis Binyamin". You can find more shiurim here.

Yidel,

RDTeitelbaum opens his post, "'The Greatest Challenge We Face Today is Making Yiddishkeit and Torah Geshmak for Us and Our Youth' - Those are not my words but words from an interview with Rabbi Lieff..." which the graphic next to it said was a quote from a recorded interview. (Although I didn't find on RDT's original post a link to that recording.)

I then traced down R' Lieff on Google, and listened to a talk RMTL gave in Waterbury on YouTube. I was convinced I found the right person (similar voice as in the interview linked to in this post), and posted my comment.

Although Micha, he said himself when linking to the shiur that he received it anonymously and didn't know who gave the shiur. I think the quote from the interview was also in a different post. I listened to one of the shiurim on TorayAnytime that you linked to and I'm not 100% sure.

Micha,

I just reread what you wrote. The interview in the post that the quote was from may be from R. Moshe Tuvia Lieff, but Dovid Teitelbaum never said that was the same person who gave the "Ger Koton" shiur.

He didn't know who gave that shiur and he never said it was R. Lieff, who gave the interview he quoted at the very top of the post. Maybe that's the confusion?

I don't think Dovid should have criticized Rav Lieff. He was just responding to an interview and if you read it, that wasn't really the focus of the interview at all- the writer liked that one line and used as the title

the voice on the shiur is def. NOT Rabbi Lieff. I know his voice and that's not it

nor does it sound like Rav Shimshon Sherer

I will second Anonymous that this voice is definitely not Rav Lieff, and that's quite from the first few words.

Moreover, it's not even close.

I sent the shiur and it is
Rav Shimshon Sherer.

Definitely not rav lieff or rav sherer. It clearly sounds like neither. Also the accent is lubavitch.
